The set additionally includes a special 2731 track to connect to the 12V electrics (it is slightly more yellowed than the rest of the track) and a working 12V power supply (Electric, Train 12V Transformer for 220V - Type / bb0092) from 1974, which are not standard kit items but are necessary to run the train.

Train tested, works and runs! The electronics are in working order, the motor works, the rails conduct electricity, although the train sometimes runs a bit reluctantly, perhaps due to its age and reduced efficiency or simply under-cleaned/slightly bent rails and snow-covered contacts - the motor contacts and rails may need washing for better conduction and reduced resistance, on first use sometimes you also need to press the rails harder together and gradually increase the voltage to get the train going.
